How to find your watch reference

Identify the model before requesting a valuation or comparing watches.

Reference and serial are different

A model reference identifies a design or variant. A serial identifies an individual watch. Do not substitute one for the other when comparing listings. Avoid publishing a full serial number in public photos.

Start with the paperwork and caseback

Look at the warranty card, original invoice and visible caseback markings. Placement varies by brand and model. A bracelet code may identify only the bracelet. Do not open the case or remove parts solely to find a reference.

Keep the complete code

Include letters, dots and suffixes when you can verify them. Similar references may have different movements, case sizes or bracelets. If you are unsure, send clear photographs and say the reference is unknown.
